In 1851, Richard Ellis (51) of St. Erth, widower, labourer in iron foundry, was living in Foundery, St. Erth. Present were children: Elizabeth Ellis (24) of Phillack, Joseph (16) of Phillack, moulder in iron foundry, Richard (14) of St. Erth, boiler maker

In 1861, Richard Ellis (60) of Phillack [sic], widower, was with his daughter Elizabeth Richards and her family in St. Johns Street, Phillack.

In 1871, Richard Ellis (71) of Phillack [sic], widower, boiler maker, was with his daughter Elizabeth Richards and her family in Mount Pleasant, Phillack.
