In 1851, George Smith (46) of Camborne, copper miner, and [2nd] wife Margaret (53) of Camborne, were living in Vyvyan St., Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne): Selina*† (20), servant at master by day, John† (16), copper miner, George† (15), copper miner, Caroline† (12) of Isle of Man, at home

* No Selina in the baptismal register. However, this is Asenath, born at the same time and who married in 1856. In the 1861 Census, she is again referred to as Selina.

† Children of George's first marriage.

George married Mary MARTIN, daughter of William MARTIN of Penponds and Mary WARREN, on 7 Jun 1824 in Camborne, Cornwall. (Mary MARTIN was born about 1805 in Camborne, Cornwall, christened on 13 Jan 1805 in Camborne, Cornwall and died between 1839 and 1843.)
