In 1891, John Prideaux (47) of Illogan, assurance agent, and wife Lydia (50) of Camborne, were living in New Road, Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne): Margaret B. (19), Mary Laity (11), scholar, Annie (8), scholar, Jno. Arthur (22), printer

In 1901, John Prideaux (57) of Illogan, assurance agent, and wife Lydia (60) of Camborne, were living in Pendarves St., Camborne. Present were daughters (born in Camborne): Mary L. (21), school teacher, Annie (18), granddaughter Janie P. Jenkins (1) of Camborne

In 1911, John Prideaux (67) of Illogan, assurance agent for Prudential Assurance, and wife Lydia (71) of Camborne (mother of 8 children, 4 deceased), were living in New Rowe, Troon, Camborne. Present were daughter Annie Prideaux (28) of Camborne, at home, son-in-law Richard John Gundry (40) of Helston, married, retired miner, grandchildren: Alice Gundry* (36) of Mexico (resident, British parentage), married, Thomas John Gundry (5) of Mexico (ditto), Kathleen Jenkin (9) of Camborne, school, Annie Prideaux Jenkin (3 months) of Camborne.

* This an error. John's daughter Mary Laity Prideaux married Richard John Gundry in 1903.

John Prideaux died aged 77 years.

John Prideaux of Troon Camborne Cornwall, insurance agent, died 2 November 1920. Probate Bodmin 4 January 1921 to George Henry Willoughby, butcher. Effects £274 2s. 9d.

"THE LATE MR. JOHN PRIDEAUX, OF TROON.

By the death of Mr. John Prideaux, last week, Troon has lost one of its oldest and most respected inhabitants. Deceased, who was about 77 years of age, was a well-known figure throughout the Camborne district, and his genial manner won him a wide circle of friends. For many years he was the representative of an assurance company. A prominent Wesleyan, he was one of the workers in the village church, and for nearly thirty years filled engagements throughout the circuit as a local preacher. Deceased was an earnest Christian worker, and his sermons, although homely in character, were marked with sincerity of old-time Methodism. Mr. Prideaux had time to devote to municipal life, and was a member of the old Local Board and Urban Council. To the relatives the sympathy of the district will be extended in their sad loss.
The funeral took place at Troon cemetery on Friday afternoon, and was largely attended." ⁴

John married Lydia RULE, daughter of James RULE and Mary, on 13 Feb 1868 in Chapel of St. John, Camborne, Cornwall ¹. (Lydia RULE was born about 1841 in Illogan, Cornwall and died on 7 Jan 1929 in Troon, Camborne, Cornwall ⁵.)
