"WILLIAM VIVIAN IS DEAD; ILL ONE YEAR

Veterans Transfer Man Was 62 Years Old and Had Resided Here for 51 Years.

William Vivian, veteran transfer man, died Monday evening at 11 o'clock at his home, 769 Michigan street, following an illness of a year's duration. His condition had been critical for two weeks and his death was not unexpected.

He was 61 years old, was born in Osceola and came to Ishpeming 57 years ago with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vivian. He engaged in the dray and transfer business when he was 18 years old.

Mr. Vivian is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters: William Jr., Detroit; Roy, Ishpeming; Roland, Detroit; Kenneth and Robert, Ishpeming; Mrs. Conrad Knutson, Duluth; Mrs. James Daley, Mrs. John Morgan and Mrs. Norman Trombley, Detroit. There are eight grandchildren and three brothers, George, James and Richard Vivian, all residents of Ishpeming.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the home. The Rev. W. M. MacKay, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will officiate.

During his younger days Mr. Vivian was active in athletics and played on some of the city's semi-pro baseball teams." 5
