In 1851, William Bennetts (39) of Camborne, miner, and wife Jane (42) of Wendron, were living in Stowes, Linkinhorne. Present were children: Mary Jane (17) and William Henry (16), mine boy, both born in Camborne, Mark Smith (6), scholar, and Elizabeth Ann (2), both born in Linkinhorne. Also present were lodgers John Trethewey (62) of St. Dennis, granite merchant, John Northcott (37) of Plynt, miner, William Bassett (27) of London, labourer, William Cocks (26) of Altarnun, miner, and visitor Ambrose Harris* (23) of St. Neot, miner

On 26 August 1853 William S. Bennetts, copper miner, of Cornwall, aged 40 years, wife Jane (39), children Mark (9), died, Elyk Smith (3) and Emily (1) arrived in Adelaide aboard 'Magdalena'

William married Jane VINCENT, daughter of Henry VINCENT and Sally MICHELL, on 9 Jun 1833 in Camborne, Cornwall. (Jane VINCENT was born in 1819 in Wendron, Cornwall, christened on 6 Mar 1819 in Camborne, Cornwall and died on 25 Feb 1886 in Black Springs, S.A., Australia.)
