-------------------------

It seems as though there were very few people with the surname Dunstone (Dunston, Dunstan) living in Penryn in the mid-to-late 1700s, though there were families living in the nearby parishes of Budock, Stithians and Mawnan. An Anne Dunstone was christened on 28 Feb 1768 in Budock, dau of Thomas Dunstone and Mary Bath (who were married in Mabe). Thomas Dunstone, who was buried in Budock, was "of Constantine" according to the burial record, and at least three of his daughters were married there (Thomas or his eldest son of the same name was a witness at these marriages). One of these daughters, Margaret, married William Spargo of Mabe. Thomas Dunston and William Spargo were witnesses to the marriage of Anne Dunston of Budock to Hugh Spargo in Mabe in 1789. So it would seem that this Anne did not marry Francis Harris of Penryn.

An Anne daughter of Edward Dunstone and Mary was christened in Veryan on 4 Nov 1763. She may be the same Anne Dunstone who married Thomas Trengove in 1792 in Gwennap and was buried in St. Gluvias in 1847 aged 83 years (b.c. 1764).

An Anne daughter of Samuel Dunstan and Jane was christened in Stithians on 13 Feb 1768. She was buried on 31 May 1776 in Stithians.

Possible candidates yet to be investigated:

chr. 15 Aug 1762 in Stithians, dau of John Dunston and Anne
chr. 22 Aug 1762 in Mawnan, dau of Henry Dunstone and Thomasine
chr. 1 Nov 1766 in Stithians, dau of James Dunstan and Elizabeth Trevena
chr. 19 Aug 1770 in Stithians, dau of William Dunstan and Ann
